DOH-WALTON UPDATES POSITIVE CASES OF COVID-19

DeFuniak Springs, Fla. – DOH Walton/Walton Community Health Center is conducting free COVID 19 testing in DOH-Walton locations in Santa Rosa Beach and DeFuniak Springs by appointment only.  Call 850-401-6453 for more information and to schedule a drive-up appointment. Antibody tests are not available.

The coronavirus immunizations for individuals ages 65 years and older will be provided at the Coastal Branch clinic at 361 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment, call the Walton County Covid Line at (850) 401-6453 beginning January 4th, 2021.

Vaccination times: 8 AM - 5 PM Wednesday, January 6 

                                 8 AM – 5 PM Friday January 8 

                                 8 AM – 5 PM Wednesday January 13

                                 8 AM – 5 PM Friday January 15

Further immunizations will be scheduled after these initial dates as vaccine supply allows. Persons who have had a severe allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine or to an injectable therapeutic may not receive the vaccine. There is no charge for vaccine administration.

Demographic information on cases due to ongoing epidemiological investigations are provisional and subject to change: There are 61 new Walton County cases reported for December 29th. Walton County total cases (4818). Municipalities by zip code can be found on the dashboard (click on the bottom of the page Cases by Zip code).  FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov. Community data excludes outbreaks at Correctional Facilities, Long-Term Care Facilities, and out of state residents tested in Walton County. The median age for December 29th is 45. Community cases (47) age group 0-4 (2), 5-14 (0), 15-24 (2), 25-34 (11), 35-44 (8), 45-54 (12), 55-64 (5), 65-74 (5), 75-84 (1), 85+ (1).  

An 85-year-old male and a 70-year-old female diagnosed with Covid19 have passed away.  There have been 47 deaths in Walton County. Current COVID19 Hospitalizations in Walton County Hospitals (15) This data may include persons other than Walton County cases.

Included in total cases is 484 past outbreaks in Walton County Correctional facilities staff and inmates.

Included in total cases is current and past outbreaks of (202) residents and/or staff that have tested positive for COVID-19 in  Long Term Care Facilities in Walton The daily COVID-19 report also includes information from the Agency for Health Care Administration, by county about cases and deaths related to staff or residents in long-term care facilities his report is also available at FloridaHealthCOVID19.gov.

Effective July 2, 2020, COVID-19 confirmed through antigen testing are included in overall case counts. Antigen tests are a new way to check for active COVID-19 infection at the time of your appointment.
