DOH-Putnam Prepares for Emergencies with Preparedness Day

Palatka, Fla. - Joe Cobb, Preparedness Planner, along with DOH and community prepared the DOH-Putnam team for the needs of persons requiring assistance during periods of evacuation or emergency at a SpNS.
Training included accommodating people with disabilities; body mechanics; personal preparedness planning; administering oxygen; shelter operations and a shelter set-up exercise. A special thank you to Jen Horner, DOH Special Needs Consultant; Ryan Simpson and Bryan O'Toole from the Putnam County Emergency Management; and Dr. Tony Delisle and Kevin Towles from the Center for Independent Living for sharing their knowledge with us.
