Pensacola, Fla. – Effective immediately, in response to bacteriological sampling, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (FDOH-Escambia) is continuing a health advisory for all inland waters due to lingering effects from Hurricane Sally, including the following locations in Escambia County, Florida:

• Bayou Chico at Lakewood Park
• Sanders Beach
• Bayou Texar at Bayview Park 

The bacteriological sampling occurred during water quality monitoring activities, and the level of bacteria has exceeded the level established by state guidelines. The department advises against any water-related activities for all inland waters, including the above locations, due to the potential for high bacteria levels.

Due to an adequate reduction in bacteria levels, the health advisory has been rescinded for all coastal waters, including the following locations:

• Quietwater Beach
• County Park West
• County Park East
• Casino Beach
• Perdido Key State Park
