BEAT THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL RUSH WITH NO-COST SHOTS STARTING JULY 19

By Audrey Stasko, Public Information Officer

June 16, 2021

Vaccines aren’t scary but waiting last minute to get your child’s back-to-school shots can be.

Beat the rush and get your child’s required school immunizations taken care of at the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County’s (DOH-Citrus) no-cost clinics starting on Monday, July 19.

Walk in or make an appointment at the Lecanto Health Department, located at 3700 W. Sovereign Path, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday, beginning on July 19 until Aug. 6. DOH-Citrus will also provide two Saturday clinics from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 24 and Aug. 7.

Students in grades kindergarten to 12 can also get school entrance (not sports) physicals for $35 by appointment only, Monday thru Friday only. Please call 352-527-0247 to make an appointment.

No appointments are needed for the immunizations, but those interested in making an appointment can call 352-527-0247. Parents and guardians should bring ID, the child’s birth certificate, social security card and immunization record, if available.

For a list of recommended vaccinations for infants, children and adolescents, go to https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/schedules/hcp/imz/child-adolescent.html.
