Water Quality Advisory Issued at Bridge Creek to the Mouth of Heron Bayou at Perdido Bay
Pensacola, Fla. – Effective immediately, the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County (FDOH-Escambia) is issuing a health advisory for the following area in Escambia County, Florida:
- Bridge Creek, located at the end of Brook Bend Road, to the mouth of Heron Bayou at Perdido Bay
The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) reports a force main break that resulted in the release of an unknown amount of untreated sewage into the above affected area.
Although the sewage release has been stopped, FDOH-Escambia advises against any water-related activities due to the potential for high bacteria levels.
We will continue to collaborate with ECUA to monitor the situation until the advisory is rescinded. For more information, contact the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County at 595-6700.
