Florida Department of Health in Broward County offers FREE Back To School Immunizations

 

(Broward County, FL) – The Florida Department of Health in Broward County will offer free immunizations for school age children (ages 4 to 18) during the month of August inside the Lauderhill Mall, 1299-E NW 40 Avenue in Lauderhill, FL 33313.

“Immunizations are safe, proven protection for all.  I encourage all families to prepare early and get the required vaccinations for their children before the back to school rush,” said Dr. Paula Thaqi, Director, Florida Department of Health in Broward County.

IMMUNIZATIONS will be offered inside the LAUDERHILL MALL on the following dates and times:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday

August 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 24 & 25   –   9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Thursday-  August 13 & 20   –   9:00 am to 7:00 pm

JOIN THE FUN AT THE BACK TO SCHOOL COMMUNITY IMMUNIZATION AND RESOURCE FAIR

Saturday, August 22 – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

The Immunization and Resource Fair will include: Free immunizations, free face painting, free bicycle helmets for children who are vaccinated, family entertainment, and Lauderhill Mall shop discounts.  Enrollment will be available for Florida KidCare (Health insurance for children), WIC (Women, Infants & Children nutrition program), and Free & Reduced School Lunch program.

Florida requires documentation of age-appropriate vaccinations for all school age children, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. In addition, students entering 7th grade are required to receive Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccine.

Each child must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (18 or older). Parent or legal guardian should remember to bring the child’s immunization records.

School physicals, religious exemptions and immunizations for day care will not be provided at this location.
